What we're about
Upcoming events (5+)
Note that you can join us in Japan for whichever dates you wish for (and not necessary for the entire duration of the event). We have different people going slightly different date periods. Final itinerary still to be developed but planning to visit the below listed places. If you have any places you want to go, I would like to take into consideration. - Kyoto - Osaka - Nara region including Yushino which is Japan's most famous place for Cherry Blossom - Himeji Castle - Hiroshima / Miyajima - Hakone incl. Mt Fuji As with past trips, this will be as DIY as possible which will allow us to visit more places as well as unique places that tour groups often cannot go. We certainly won't forgo the cities and the key tourist attractions, however be also prepared for outdoor activities and ecotourism. If you are a city person then this might not be a fit for you. For accommodations, we will be staying at a combination of western hotels, temple (shukubo), traditional Japanese inns (ryokan) and capsule hotels Important: While I will try to keep cost as low as possible (not a millionaire either), Japan is an expensive country. I prefer a fun and interesting trip which often is NOT the cheapest option. Please don't ask me for an exact budget yet. However expect to pay $600 - $800 for flight, $30 - $100 per night for hotel and additional cost for transportation, food, ticket etc. Note this trip will be limited to a small group size. If you are a member who I have never met before, I would like to meet you in NYC first. Finally if you are interested in going RSVP as soon as possible as we may close off RSVP months in advance
