some times such  e-mails might come from a friend you knew for years
BUT IT IS NOT him/her

when governments pull such scams.... (the bush and the dick scamming us to go to war with Iraq)  it is doom for us all...so in other words,  suspect EVERYTHING on the web and e-mails.

It's the first time I've seen this scam, so I'm actually grateful that the mail ended up here.

And just as an FYI for everybody since this is going out to the whole list. There are a few things that doesn't make sense with the original mail:

* The police in Spain are very helpful towards tourists, especially in a vacation hotspot like Malaga. Not getting help from them after an armed robbery is inconceivable (and that word means what I think it means ;-)
* Tourism is a major industry, so they don't want anything to happen that would turn tourists away. Armed robbery is just such a thing and would be struck down upon. (Scams OTOH are largely your own problem. If you're stupid enough to fall for them - too bad).
* The US Embassies is in Madrid and Barcelona. If you'd 'been to the embassy' after being robbed of all your money, I would have been very surprised. I'm not American, so I don't know how helpful they are...
* Has anybody been to a hotel lately where you didn't either pay in advance or book with a credit card?

not sure if it's a scam, as he did not ask for money, but rather help,  So for me that means, pointing you in the direction of "help" to settle your "confusion"

I've seen this scam before. Let me guess you need money to help? BS. Cept the one I saw was "While in london I was robbed at gun point and now all my money and credit cards and everything are gone I need money to just get back home can someone please help?!" If this is real than Call the US embassy if you're having an issue or your bank. Why would you contact the Digital Creatives?!

I've been to the embassy and the Police here are not helping issues at all and my flight  leaves shortly from now but i'm are having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel  manager won't let me leave until i settle the bills,

I'm so confused at the moment........I need urgent help.
