Journalism Startups: 2019 Showcase

Details

Join us on May 15th for our 6th annual afternoon exhibition of the 13 media startup projects developed by the 2019 fellows of the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism. This is a chance to talk one-on-one with each of our entrepreneurs about their ventures.

This is an open-house style event. Drop in for any part of the event. Doors open at 12:30; the event ends at 3pm.

Here's a full list of the startups presenting, along with brief bios. http://bit.ly/ej19bios

This year's startups include:

• Me Explica (http://meexplica.com/) explains the most talked-about news in Brazil and makes it accessible to all audiences across social channels, including Youtube

• Rubic.US (https://rubic.us/) aids those navigating immigrant life in the U.S.

• The NOOHs partners with local non-profit news outlets to bring the news into the public square. Using existing outdoor advertising spaces such as bus shelters and street-level posters, NOOHs stories are hyper-localized to their location, giving every reader an entry-point into a story.

... and other terrific media entrepreneurs.
