This meetup will explore how educators and non-profits can leverage WordPress to accomplish goals.

Part-1 is a presentation:

• why WordPress is an excellent LMS (learning management system) for teachers and schools.

• integrating fundraising and constituent relations management into non-profit websites.

• how educators can use WordPress to teach online courses for free or fee-based.

• themes, plugins, and frameworks to make all this possible... with live website examples.

Part-2 is an open discussion in which we'll all learn from each other. Several of our members have extensive experience in developing WordPress sites for non-profits. Email me if you'd like to demo a site or some specific functionality.

WordPress users in all areas will gain valuable knowledge at this must-attend meetup for educators and non-profits.

Presenting is D.K. Smith... a WordPress expert and former Director of Academic Technology at Brooklyn Friends School (http://www.brooklynfriends.org), where he taught teachers how to integrate technology into teaching. He currently serves on the Superintendent's Committee for Technology in the Westchester school district where his daughter is enrolled, and is a co-author of the district's three-year tech plan. D.K. is also the founder of ProBonoWP.org (http://probonowp.org/), a matching service for non-profits seeking help with WordPress.

This meetup is perfect for beginners and intermediate WordPress users.
