This wed: Rick has volunteered to answer and teach on fundraising skills..

Rick T. McKay, Financial Development Professional, MS Fundraising, NYU

Rick started in philanthropy at age 19, when he founded a “campership” program named “Kids Need Camp,” providing scholarships for children from the South Bronx to attend camp in the Catskill Mountains of New York State.

Since then, he has continued his career in philanthropy serving a number of organizations such as the YMCA, The Boy Scouts of America, and the De La Salle Christian Brothers.

For the last 10 years Rick has also served as a volunteer consultant for St. Mary’s School & Child Rescue Center in Kenya. His Master’s in Fundraising thesis at NYU chartered a course to financial sustainability for St. Mary's. In 2012, he co-founded the St. Mary’s Board of Financial Stewards and during a month long trip to Kenya in 2015, he advised the leadership council on the founding of the St. Mary’s Alumni Association in Kenya.
