    I had a debate recently and I wanted to get feedback on hardware versus apps/web-based.

    Hardware argument:
    -> too many distractions on regular devices
    -> recognizable, visibility
    -> pushed from top-down onto students and teachers to get adoption
    -> cheaper alternative to general use laptops and tablets

    Web/app argument:
    -> serious actual teacher/student adoption issues when sold to administrators and forced onto schools
    -> distractions aren't going away, people will still have smart phones, TV, etc tempting them, so education will have to compete alongside these things hardware or not
    -> developers and companies don't want to develop for yet another unique platform
    -> web apps require less steps, capital, far quicker, reaches actual engaged willing users
    -> consumers won't want an education-only device on top of what they already carry, as evidenced by eReaders, Kno tablet
    -> future is APIs

    Curious to hear back from publishers and developers on this, can be reached on this thread or nicholasmcummings at ya

    I actually do think procurement is an interesting tech problem t solve, with some potential for employment acceleration, even outside of tech.
