Old school meets new school: Deep energy retrofit of an 1849 schoolhouse. This project is under construction, with wall cavities and structural elements exposed, estimated completion Spring 2018. Fully insulated interior walls and integrated crawlspace, fully exterior roof insulation, how did we transition the thermal envelope, you ask? Stop by and find out! Rigorous air sealing and repointing underway to protect structural limestone walls, passive house spec aluminum clad wood windows and doors from Markowin. All electric systems and future PV array to offset loads, this house will be net zero energy once completed.
