Hey there, can’t believe we’re at the end of the 2019 season. It’s been a great year for NDC, and we’ve been having a great time creating events for our community. Keeping it light for our end year meetup, you all get the chance to entertain us with your Better Work and career Stories.
Bring your short stories of excellent leadership examples, horrifying startup journey, near-misses, hero moments, embarrassing interviews or heartwarming teamwork.
You can bring as many stories as you like each speaker will have 5 minutes. Have a go, get some speaking practice, launch your stand-up career or tell that story you've always wanted to share.
To Kick off the event, we will have two speakers:
Prithika Mohan
Prithika is a design & product strategist. Having studied at RISD, she uses her training in industrial design, behavioural science and experience building digital products in her day to day work.
Currently, she is with freelance design & product consultant. Prithika moved to Kenya to work with Antler as an entrepreneur to build products in emerging countries. She has worked for MasterClass as a product design lead for the engagement and retention team while building out user research arm within the design team. She also led design at Health IQ, where she helped scale and rethink financial tech products for health-conscious individuals.
Mutembei Kariuki
Co-Founder & CEO Fastagger
'Mutembei is a Co-founder of Fastagger a start-up accelerating development of Artificial Intelligence while creating employment opportunities in Africa before this he was the Regional Coordinator for the Make-IT in Africa initiative at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. He has worked in the areas of Technology, Entrepreneurship and leadership development with organisations internationally with particular focus on Africa, Europe, and Asia.
He has been involved in Social Entrepreneurship and worked in Brazil, India and The Philippines to support entrepreneurs and identifying innovative organisations. He also spent two years in Japan, learning about how emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, Blockchain, etc. can be used in emerging economies. These are technologies that he believes will radically improve the quality of life for humanity. Mutembei has a background in Economics and Information Systems.'
