Nantahala Hiking Club is a group of people who enjoy hiking, maintaining the AT, and promoting outdoor activities. Hikers of all all levels are welcome. We have hikes year round in and around Franklin, Highlands and surrounding areas. Come join us!

AT Trail Maintenance - We need your help

MAINTAINING THE AT IS THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THE NHC. Join Us For Trail Maintenance For over 50 years the Nantahala Hiking Club has maintained 59 miles of the Appalachian Trail from the Georgia line to the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Wesser, North Carolina. We also maintain over 40 miles of Blue Blaze Trails throughout the Nantahala National Forest. If you are at least 18 years of age, enjoy hiking and good company, join us for a day of trail maintenance. No prior experience is required. Tools and training are provided.
