It is advisable that you refrain from developing relationship with other members of the opposite sex (or same sex and orientation), and even to be careful forming friendships of the same sex when recovering as this is a support group and people with Cluster B make their way into recovery groups for exploitation of group members and also for support when unaware of their own diagnosis. People using the group for dating purposes will be removed from the Meetup.
This group focuses on the unique challenges of interacting with a person who has NPD or another personality disorder. This could involve a romantic relationship or marriage, but we also discuss the parent/child bonds and the role of the narcissist in the family and the workplace.
By sharing our stories and our strength, we support each other, identify practical coping tools, and learn how to apply these tools to help us heal and to remain strong through this process.
This group is not facilitated by a medical professional or intended to take the place of a trained therapist.
But when you pull up a chair and join us, you will be around people who 'get' it.
