Come make a game over the weekend for Ludum Dare 45!

Ludum Dare (Latin for "to give a game") is a massive game jam with thousands of participants all over the globe. Those who take part have either two or three days to create a game based on the official theme. At the end, games are submitted online for the world to play.

Come hear the theme announcement, brainstorm with each other, team up (or do it solo), and work on your game! At the end, we'll all get a chance to show off and play each others' games.

We'll be providing chicken on Friday night so everyone can focus on their games without having to worry about dinner!

FRIDAY
🕒 4:30 PM: Doors open!
🕒 5:00 PM: Theme announcement. Start brainstorming and working!
🕒 12:00 AM: Doors close for the night.

SATURDAY
🕒 10:00 AM: Doors open.
🕒 12:00 AM: Doors close for the night.

SUNDAY
🕒 10:00 AM: Doors open.
🕒 5:00 PM: Submit your games if you're doing the 48 hour jam! If not, you can keep working at home for another 24 hours.
🕒 6:00 PM: Play each others' games!

FAQ

Q: Wait, so does the game jam last 2 days or 3 days?
A: If you do what's called the "compo", the deadline is Sunday at 5 PM. If you do the more relaxed "jam", the deadline is Monday at 5 PM. We're only hosting the event here in Nashville until Sunday evening, but feel free to go home after and work on your game until the Monday jam deadline.

Q: Who will I be working with? Are we all making one game?
A: We'll allow for people to get to know each other and naturally form teams, and each team will work on a game. If you'd like to work on a game on your own, that's perfectly fine too.

Q: Do I retain the rights to the game I make?
A: Yep! You (and your team) have full ownership over the game you make.

Q: Will there be food?
A: There will be chicken provided on Friday.

Q: What's the parking like?
A: The location has a big parking lot we can use for free.

Q: What hours are the venue open?
A: Everyone should be out at around midnight each night. Doors will open again at 10:00 AM.
