What we're about

New to programming and looking to get your feet wet? Self-taught and looking to fill in some knowledge gaps, or trying to expand your learning but not sure where to look next? Maybe you’re a student seeking some additional study outlets?

No matter where you come from or where you are in your computer science journey, NAPS is the place to come and socialize with fellow programmers looking to expand their knowledge base, share what they know, and help one another grow. Maybe you soak up Python like a sponge but can’t seem to get a foothold into leveraging API—no question is too small and no task is too big. A mindset for learning (and a laptop/tablet) is all you need.

Regular weekly meet ups will be held, segmented so as to open with a structured “book club” period for those who wish to participate, focused on discussing a designated study topic or free online resource (such as CS50x or Eloquent JavaScript), followed by a less formal open floor section to socialize, collaborate, and share knowledge freely with your fellow learners. Occasional seminars will also be held featuring lectures from more experienced programmers, representatives from related Meetup groups, and recruiters from computer science programs and boot camps.

Learn while you teach and teach while you learn—we’re waiting for you!
