Welcome to Nashville Women Programmers!

This group is hosted by women programmers with the goal to build a welcoming and beginner friendly environment to learn, in order to grow diversity in the programming field.

We embrace the Lambda Jam Conference Diversity Policy (http://www.lambdajam.com/policies/) and welcome people of any gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, size, nationality, sexual orientation, ability level, neurotype, religion, elder status, family structure, culture, subculture, political opinion, identity, and self-identification.

Meetups are held on the second Monday each month. Come to code, learn, meet like-minded people, and have fun!

[VIRTUAL] Achieving Real-time Data: Apache Kafka to the Rescue

**This will be a virtual event. How do we reliably make data such as user actions, transactions etc available as soon as possible for the end user? The introduction of systems such as Kafka have made this headache a lot easier. [VIRTUAL] Asynchronous Programming in JavaScript

In this seminar you see a comparison and contrast between callbacks and promises. You also learn to use the async and await keywords to make working with promises much easier.
