Topic:
At this meetup, Elly will talk through key user experience fundamentals that can help you design and build better software. For example, coaching on how important it is to consider what the customer is doing instead of what your system is doing. How to write in a purposeful, concise, and conversational style. She’ll introduce the concept of conversational design - imaging that a human is saying everything in your app to your customer, and how that might change what you build. The talk will also include pics of cute goats and cats.

Skill Level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced):

Speaker:
Elly Searle is Principal Content Strategist at CrowdStrike. She’s done a bit of everything in the user experience world: broad-reaching consumer products at Microsoft, customer-centric retail at Nordstrom, and cybersecurity apps for enterprise audiences at CrowdStrike. Elly is a fierce advocate for using plain language as a way to open up technical fields, to help more people quickly grasp what’s at stake and what needs to be done. An accomplishment she’s especially proud of is partnering with MITRE to make the ATT&CK framework more approachable.
