Topic:
For those entering software development as a 2nd or 3rd career, it may feel like all the time you spent in your former career was wasted or doesn't apply to your new field. In fact, one of the greatest strengths you may have are the skills picked up in unrelated careers. This talk will help you understand all the amazing skills you picked up along the way to becoming a software developer.

Skill Level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced):
Beginner

Speaker:
Trent Hand has served as a soldier, a salesperson, an ESL teacher in Turkey, a valet, and most recently a UI Developer at Onlife Health. A father of a one year old and husband to a long-suffering wife, he enjoys cooking for his family, getting in a good run, and reading as much as possible.
