No matter what type of writing you do, this group is intended to provide support, advice, and a scheduled time to just write. The overall structure of each meetup is to begin with attendees introducing themselves and highlighting any specific issues they are having with their writing (from difficulty starting a new project, to finding time to write, to idea development to editing woes), and then getting support and advice from other attendees who have dealt with/are dealing with the same issues. After this, everyone can spend time writing: allowing the meetup to also serve as a scheduled time to work each week. We will end with a brief discussion on what you were able to accomplish (including- “nothing, I’m still stuck- help!”) and setting goals to move forward with your project.
Note: This is not a reading and critiquing group, although certainly you and others may take time to do that. This is meant to be a stimulus and support group to get you moving forward and focused on your projects.
Meeting in room 1A, first floor.
Introductions as needed, and discussion about what’s going on with your work- sticking points and successes. Then the always needed focused time to write. Also, as it’s always great to know more about what people are working on- we’ll be sure to take some time at the end for anyone who’d like to to read some of their work.
