Nov Meeting with SFV Shooters Outdoor Range
This month we will be shooting with the SFV shooters outdoors a the Angeles Crest Range. Please do not RSVP here, go to their page to RSVP. The 12 Golden Rules for Safe Weapon Handling 1. Always treat the weapon as loaded. 2. Always keep the weapon pointed in a safe direction. 3. Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. 4. Always keep the weapon unloaded until you are ready to use it. 5. Never point the weapon at anything you don't intend to destroy. 6. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it. 7. Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the weapon you are using. 8. Always use proper Ammunition. 9. Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before loading and shooting. 10. If your weapon fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, hold your shooting position for several seconds; then with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, carefully unload the weapon. 11. Don't rely on the weapon's safety to keep it from firing. 12. Be aware of your surroundings when handling weapons so you don't trip or lose your balance and accidentally point and/or fire the weapon at anyone or anything. Range Safety Follow the 12 golden rules. 1. Know and follow all the rules of the Shooting Range. 2. Listen and do what the Range Master tells you to do. 3. Uncase and case your weapon at the shooting bench, never behind the safety line. 4. Always keep the barrel pointed down range. 5. Always keep the weapon on safe until you intend to shoot. 6. Always wear eye and ear protection when shooting. 7. Never shoot at water or hard surfaces. Other Items to be aware of: Please wear comfortable clothing to the range. There is a possibility of you getting a little dirty, but not by much, so your best church clothes a not recommended. Also, wear a comfortable flat bottom shoe, the last thing we want is for you to lose your balance with a firearm in hand. Finally if you happen to have a drink before a range day, understand that if I or any other range safety officer can smell alcohol on you, you will be asked to leave.

I started this group to meet other African American Gun enthusiasts. Looking forward to meeting everybody. We meet at least once a month or twice depending on the group's decision. The locations where we meet will change every month depending on what Gun Range we select in the Metro Los Angeles area and after every group sessionwe will have some good conversations, food and drink.
