Joint NYPL-NWU Open Mic (Virtual Event)

Details
Come to read or listen to others' inspired words. The Muhlenberg Library in collaboration with the National Writers Union (https://nwu.org/) is hosting a virtual open mic every first Thursday of the month. It is time to gather together and share our original works. Writers from all genres are welcome. This virtual stage allows you to add video or music to your reading as long as you have permission from the copyright owner. Participants cannot sell their works during the event but can show the book covers during their readings. Content should be for a general audience and readings including language or descriptions inappropriate for children must begin with a warning. Recording of this event is strictly prohibited.
Register here -- https://www.nypl.org/events/programs/2021/08/05/national-writers-union-virtual-open-mic
Registrations must be received by 2 pm ET on the previous day (Wednesday).
This event will be conducted via Google Meet. Registration is required. If you would like to read, please put "writer" after your name (e.g., John Smith writer). You must provide your email address in order to receive the day before the event the link to participate and a link with a consent form that must be filled if you are a "writer". Each writer can read up to seven minutes. Reading order will be determined by first come, first serve.
