What we're about
Nectar is a non-verbal dance inspired by conscious and ecstatic dance. It is a space to enjoy and explore embodiment, physical expression, and the body’s wisdom. After an opening unguided warm-up period, a playlist of music progresses through a wave—beginning spacious and mellow, gaining intensity, and arriving back into stillness. Participants are welcome to move, dance, and be still as their bodies desire. Nectar opens and closes with intentional circles. Opening circles feature inspirational comments on a theme by the Facilitator-DJ, and closing circles offer participants a chance to share about their experiences in the dance. Nectar was created by Amorn O'Connor and Harrison Blum, and is supported by a rotating crew of Facilitator-DJs.

Inspired by the joyful community, ecstatic energy, and deep spirituality inherent in the dance, Adrienne loves to craft creative musical soundscapes that encourage both tuning in and radiating out, connecting with self and with others, being still and then rocking out, and being joyfully present in body and space.
Grounded in Buddhist practice and inspired by ecstatic dance, live music, and breakdancing since the late 90s, Harrison brings a focused attention to crafting an inspiring opening followed by eclectic and embodying music.
Michael has a passion for exploring the relational space of dance floors and crafting encounters that support personal and community connection. Laid out on thick pillows of liquid whomp and global glitch hopping electro jam between layers of velvet love, he invites presence and body intelligence in a wordless conversation of souls.
Barefoot freestyle dance, Eastern meditation, and healing bodywork practice are wellsprings since 1980 for Steve (DJ d'joy), bringing meaningful worldwide music to inspire presence, compassion and community.
Founder and facilitator of Ecstatic Dance Providence, Tara~Ma brings together an electronic tapestry of music styles and sounds. Flowing, fluid, heart centered beats raise your vibration while you align your body, spirit and mind. Get down to deep house and get high with electro-swing. Rock your chakras to a wide range of global rhythms and breathe in the expansion of blissful and harmonic vocals.
Inspired by her expressive art therapy training and motivated to create space for us to return to our bodies in community, Tonya invites imagination in as we ground and then flow into a musical drama with so many possible dance stories.
