What we're about
Weekly zazen (silent seated meditation) (Mondays, 6:30-7:30AM) with walking meditation. Instruction provided. We hope to expand in 2018 to begin to include koan study, dokusan (individual dialogue with the teacher), group discussion, half-day retreats, precept study, sutra study, art practice, body practice/movement, community/social engagement, and more. Serving the mountain communities west of Boulder, but open to all.
The practice of Zen is a way to pause and let the fortifying depths find you. It is a delicious unraveling of the antiquated belief that you're just some solitary sliver of meat, isolated and adrift in an infinite cosmos. The great unbrokenness of who you are can never be elsewhere. It's always right here, closer than each breath, unmoving in the midst of all arrivals and departures. The practice of Zen allows us to uncover and experience this healing vastness and allow it to function in our lives for our own benefit and for the benefit of others.
