What: Classical Concert Series: NEC Philharmonia plays Haydn, Mussorgsky & Verdi
When: February 3,[masked]:30 PM
30 Gainsborough St
Boston, MA 02115
It's time for another series of FREE classical music concerts!
It's the Spring semester at the New England Conservatory, and the NEC runs a series of FREE symphony orchestra concerts at the wonderful Jordan Hall each Wednesday night.
This evening's program will feature Donald Palma in a rare conducting appearance, and the music of Haydn, Mussorgsky, Ravel and Verdi. I've listened to all of these pieces, and it promises to be a terrific
concert! For more details about the concert, go to http://necmusic.edu/nec-philharmonia-palma
The concert starts at 8pm, but let's meet up at 7:30, so the group has a chance to get good seats and socialize before the concert. We usually end up sitting in the left side of center section just past the overhang, but if the balcony is open, I will always try to sit in the left-middle balcony section, since it affords a good view of the orchestra, and any pianist's hands should there be one.
Directions to Jordan Hall:
The hall is located at the corner of Huntington and Gainsborough streets
, about a block south of the Symphony T stop on the Green Line. The main entrance is reached from Gainsborough Street.
This evening's program will include:
