## Mário Nogueira - Becoming a Software Scientist Engineer ##
Senior Software Engineer @ FARO Technologies
#Resumo:
How do we do science in software? How do we become scientist like Rick in Rick&Morty? Is it even possible? Well, you won’t be travelling to parallel dimensions or alternative realities 😊
In this presentation I will introduce you the power of Scientist (https://github.com/github/scientist) and how you can leverage it to refactor critical areas of your application in a safe way and doing it in production.
#Bio:
Mário has been working as a Software Engineer for the past 6 years with the .NET framework. Currently works at FARO Technologies, in Gaia, mainly in the team responsible for CAM2 2018.
Has a passion for software architecture trying to find where and how he can refactor and improve code, even If it’s only as a training exercise. Also likes 3D programing doing experiments with Unreal Engine 4 in his free time.
## Luís Rocha - Software Developer Teams: Start, Follow-up and Retain! ##
Project Manager @ Altran
#Resumo:
Nowadays in Portugal, the demand for developers is high and the offer is low. Does this change anything in the software development market? Is there a new form of VIPs and if so, what is the best way to start, manage and retain a team of developers in today's reality?
In this talk it is going to be identified several situations with examples about good and bad outcomes, and some ideas to overcome or enhance them.
#Bio:
With 13 years of experience, 2 of them abroad in Luanda, and with a background as a .NET developer, the speaker worked closely with round about 200 people in different types of environment, social and cultural, and different dimensions (from startups to multinational).
Currently the speaker is a project manager with experience in projects with big teams and big budgets, and also with small teams and small budgets, therefore with several lessons learned to share with others.
