#StartingGood LIVE: Parramatta
Hi Sydney Netsquared folks! While we're waiting to get regular meetups happening again I wanted to bring your attention to a great event next week which I know will be of interest to the Netsquared community. #StartingGood LIVE: Parramatta is an offline one-day version of the recent #StartingGood Virtual Summit, hosted by It features founders, funders and supporters of social enterprises exploring the skills and approaches required to start good things and make an impact. #StartingGood LIVE: Parramatta is the first-ever IRL (in real life) #StartingGood event! It will use content from the online summit as well as a great group of local founders, funders and supporters to explore the future and impact of social entrepreneurship. Join us for panel discussions on the opportunities (and challenges) for social change projects, skill-building workshops, and insights from local social entrepreneurs. Seven #StartingGood Live: Parramatta attendees will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of local social change leaders for feedback. Sign up to pitch when you arrive on the day. Who is this for?  Emerging social entrepreneurs looking to refine your ideas and launch your project;  Individuals without much previous knowledge or experience in socially-conscious business. You are curious to know more and are seeking inspiration for how you can do what you do differently;  CSR officers or intra-preneurs working to shape impact strategies in their companies/institutions;  Local founders looking to further your skills and connect with the local social impact community;  Businesses wanting to align purpose with their commercial objectives;  Not-for-Profits across all sectors who are curious about how to change up their business models. Presenters include • Usman Iftikhar, co-founder of Catalysr • Andrew Perry, director of Collaboratory • Dai Li, founder of DAWN • Kate Alexandra, co-founder of Radical Self Care Project • and me, Tom Dawkins, co-founder and CEO of StartSomeGood, amongst others! There will be practical workshops on sales and fundraising, sessions on building innovation ecosystems and surviving as an entrepreneur and a chance to pitch your own idea and get support at the end of the day. Tickets are $50 and $30 for students/unwaged/starving social entrepreneurs, and speaking of starving lunch is included. Details and link to tickets at Cheers! Tom
