We’re excited to announce the first online meetup of NeuroTechX Amsterdam! On Dec 2 two interesting minds in this field will share their perspective on the current state and potential of neurotech & BCI.

Our first theme is 'Intro to BCI'. Since it's a complex field, the talks will involve some hardcore science but we try to make it accessible for everyone. After all, any industry needs a variety of specialists to take off!

Jason Farquhar is the system architect & head of Machine Learning at MindAffect, a Dutch startup that successfully built a BCI application for alleviating people from locked-in syndrom and is now building an open-source platform for creating your own BCI application. He started in Aerospace Engineering, spent 10 years as an academic researcher, and taught 2 dedicated university courses in BCI & AI.

Avery Bedows brings storytelling to neurotechnology, both as a writer and strategy consultant. At Loup Ventures, he was the neurotech specialist dedicated to investing in early-stage neurotech. His non-fiction writing explores news and trends whereas his fiction incorporates similar themes. Avery founded The Substrate Group to help neurotech businesses design and execute the right narrative for the right audience.
