icibici - hack the world's cheapest BCI & stock up on stocking stuffers!
Details
Dear neurohackers!
We're having the last Meetup of 2017 for ici·bici, home of the world's least expensive BCI interface - taking the signal from your brain down an audio cable to whatever you want.
For more information, see the project github pages at https://icibici.github.io/site.
Who should attend?
- interested newcomers. We have kits available for £20. We'll teach you to build them and the principles behind them. Bring your own device with a standard audio jack (sorry iPhone 7 & later).
- interesting oldcomers. Here, I think that our big tasks are to:
(a) think about isolating the circuit to better protect users from the mains current. If we can do this, we can probably sell the kits more commercially.
(b) work through our first ever review, from Dr Robert Oostenveld, at http://robertoostenveld.nl/first-steps-with-a-e20-single-channel-eeg-system/
(c) continue to develop and test the Unity based keyboard, which now detects binary yes/no input with high accuracy (https://github.com/ryanlintott/SSVEP_keyboard). - anyone looking for Christmas presents or stocking stuffers for people like #1 and #2, above.
Overall, the sessions are what participants make them: we knew almost nothing about what we were doing when we started the project last year. If you're interested, jump in: we'd love to meet you!
Please forward to anyone who might be interested in joining us. We'll announce this on the NeuroTechLDN Meetup soon.
Looking forward to seeing you (and the inner workings of your brain) on 3 December!
p.s. we typically break for lunch by consensus, and either grab sandwiches from the local Tesco or a veggie burger Just F.a.B., the bus [!] next door.
