What we're about

This group is for researchers in the physical/life sciences interested in discussing topics outside their immediate expertise, for fun and intellectual growth. We choose a new topic each month, which can be picked by the admin or suggested by group members, and talk about it over coffee. This could be a recent development in the field, or any well-established concept you want to think deeply about and discuss with fellow science laymen to get fresh perspectives. Topics may be in the fields of molecular biology, drug discovery and development, medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, biophysical chemistry, structural biology, genetics, quantum chemistry, bioinformatics... or really anything interesting.

At the beginning of each meeting, the admin will give a 5-10 minute summary of the topic, then everyone gets a chance to talk.

Next meetup- first week of January. Suggestions for a discussion topic are currently being welcomed. Feel free to drop an email/comment!
