Sitting in Silence and Stillness
The format: We gather and sit together in “silence and stillness” for 1 hour, after which time there is an opportunity to ask questions and share comments. For those of you who are worried about a 1 hour sit, we have had many join us with little or no meditation experience and have been surprised to find they were able to participate with such ease. This is one of the benefits of meditating in a group setting.
Why silence and stillness? We lead very busy, active and chaotic lives taking in enormous amounts of information and stimulation. Sitting in silence and stillness (which can be done eyes opened or closed) allows us to access and cultivate a deeper part of who we are that often gets neglected and goes unnoticed. By sitting in silence and stillness we counter act our excessive movement and process the content of our daily intake increasing our awareness and providing more balance, clarity, and space and freedom to move in our lives.
