Manual Exposure : It’s Easier Than You Think

Details
This Zoom-based online session on metering and exposure will begin with some basic background concepts and then build on that knowledge in a step by step manner. This approach should work well for all skill levels. The main goal is to make you comfortable with shooting in Manual mode, but we will also discuss automatic exposure modes and the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods.
Manual exposure can often provide many advantages over the automatic modes and mastering its use can dramatically increase your percentage of "keepers". Once you grasp the underlying concepts, you will see that working in Manual mode is no more difficult than working in any other exposure mode and, in many situations, it is actually easier.
The presentation will be driven by a set of Apple Keynote slides and each participant will receive a PDF of the slides presented. The slides will not always be self-explanatory without the accompanying commentary, but this will at least eliminate the need to take detailed notes during the presentation. You will receive the slides prior to the presentation and I would suggest printing them out to have at your side for taking notes during the talk.
In order to better allow for questions and interaction throughout the presentation, extra time has been allotted, and attendance will be limited to a maximum of 20 people.
Here are some comments from folks who attended previous offerings of this class :
“An excellent course in which Mike clarified a complicated subject distilling it into easily understandable segments in a relaxed open session where all questions were fielded and group discussion was encouraged.”
“Awesome course! Well presented. Mike makes complex topics easy to grasp.”
"Mike, I am an enthusiastic beginner and until your class I found a lot of the photography jargon confusing. It would have been unlikely that I ever would have ventured into Manual Mode, but after your class I can’t wait to get out this afternoon and put the new information to work. You have a very good way of explaining the material. I am looking forward to attending more of your classes. HUGE help!! Many thanks!"
