A Closer Look at RAW files, ISO, Noise, Histograms & Highlight Alerts

Details
A basic understanding of some of the technology behind digital capture will enable you to make more informed choices and increase the quality of your images. This online Zoom session will provide valuable insight into four very important aspects of digital image capture.
You will learn :
1 - what is contained in a RAW file vs. a JPEG file
2 - how ISO is implemented in the digital world
3 - what causes noise and how to reduce it at capture time
4 - how on-camera histograms and highlight alerts are generated and how to interpret them
The presentation will be kept at a conceptual level and is suitable for all skill levels and backgrounds.
A PDF of the Apple Keynote slides to be presented will be sent to each attendee the day before the presentation. The slides will not always be self-explanatory without the accompanying commentary, but this should reduce the need to take detailed notes during the presentation. I suggest printing the PDF and having at your side for taking notes during the talk.
In order to better allow for questions and interaction throughout the presentation, ample time has been allotted, and attendance will be limited to a maximum of 20 people.
