What we're about

People join this group to meet new people but there are things that make this group special.

1) Our members - I have met a lot of people and we seem to draw very sincere people. In my three years, I have seen so many great relationships of all kinds form. This wouldn't happen at the pace it does if it weren't for the fact that our members come to events with the right intentions and a friendly tone.

2) Quality of our events - We are now the largest and most active group in the state. This gives us opportunities to make great events. The hosts and I put a lot of thought and work into our events. It is our goal to make events welcoming and entertaining.

There are a lot of "regular" members that attend many events. Each one of these people started with one event and now I know the group means a lot to them. Take the risk! Join, come to an event, and if it works for you, I am sure I will see you at a lot more.

NOTE: If you would like to run an event, awesome, I would love to hear from you. Or if you are a business that would like for us to try out your establishment, let me know. I am open to suggestions. You can see my contact information below.

Thank you.

Oak and Shield Gaming Pub

Let's keep the fun going with Karaoke, it is a great environment, with the. Option of games. Karaoke starts at 9 PM, but I will arrive early at 6:30 and have fun before the event. The DJ has a good selection of tunes and the words are placed on multiple screens so you can look around the room as you're singing. Come and let your hair down and join us for the fun whether you a great singer or not. There'll be drink specials decided upon by participants so lots of interesting drinking opportunities. French Film

UWM Student Union

Back for its 22nd year, the UWM Festival of Films in French is free and open to the public from Feb 15- Feb 24. All films are subtitled and snacks are available for purchase. We will meet for "Les Mauvaises Herbes" (Bad Seeds), a 2016 film about "an actor (who) flees to the countryside to escape gambling debts. After meeting a farmer and a young woman, the three of them start a thriving marijuana growing operation." The film begins rolling at 7 p.m., however, due to the popularity of the festival and general seating, I am asking people to arrive early for introductions and to put our coats down to save our seats. We will meet inside the union, outside of the entrance to the theater. At 9 p.m. there is a showing of "L'Atelier" (The Workshop), a 2017 Cannes Film Festival entry. "Antione, is one of the few young people selected to attend a summer writing workship with a famous crime novelist in this thriller that blurs the lines between reality and fiction." I will be staying for this second feature- anyone who is interested in a double feature or arriving for the second film is welcome to join me. More info on the film festival can be found at: https://uwm.edu/french-film-festival/

Indoor Sand Volleyball at the Volleydome

Kellys Bleacher II

Open play at Kellys Bleachers II. First come first serve (Volleyball joke). Rules can be found here: http://kellysbleachers.com/volleyball-rules-regulations/. Charge is $10 which can be paid at the bar/server or cash at the court. Past experiences have been us getting two courts for most the night but it is a public venue so there's no guarantees. If you can't make it this week, we will be likely running this until the spring bar leagues start playing again. Skill level is C and B level. We typically aim for getting the bump, set, spike on every play.

Ski Together at Little Switzerland! ~Great Group Deal

Little Switzerland Ski Area

I have heard some great things about the skiing and snowboarding at Little Switzerland. If we are able to get group of 15+, we can get a great group deal. At group rate, an all day weekend pass with ski rental/lift ticket will cost about $45 (small transaction and taxes may add an extra couple dollars). If you are new to skiing, no worries, I am too. I know there are members willing to give us lessons but they also offer a lesson there for $10 (hence $55 ticket option). I setup a payment method through our groups Eventbrite. Here is a link to pay and reserve your spot; https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ski-together-at-little-switzerland-group-deal-tickets-54331386640 We would also get a better deal on meals etc...but we can talk about that later. Note... 1) To get group discount I will need to prepay for everyone! Hence I will need you to pay the $45 in advance. I hope you understand why I can't offer refunds if within 7 days of event. I will provide full refund if you need a refund before that 7 days or the event is cancelled. 2) Let's carpool! I can drive 4 people. I live on Eastside Milwaukee. If you are willing to drive or need a ride please email me [masked]. Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope you can make it! -Tommy, Email: [masked]/Text:[masked]
