Welcome to the New Haven Hiking Club. While this Meetup page started on Nov. 3, 2015, the club behind this page has been getting people outdoors since 1932.

The New Haven Hiking Cub is an outings club that is about much more than just hikes. In the warmer weather (typically April to November), the club also offers bicycle rides and kayaking/ canoeing trips. In the winter, people strap on their cross-country skis and snowshoes. The club also offers social events, including potluck dinners, and the annual roast beef dinner in November at the Cheshire Grange.

This Meet Up page is a just sampling of the many activities offered by the club. The weekly schedule usually consists of hikes on Mondays, bicycle rides on Wednesdays, paddling trips on Thursdays, along with weekend hikes and paddling trips. In colder weather, hikes, cross-country ski trips, and snowshoeing replace the bicycle rides, and the paddling trips take a break for the season.

Membership dues are only $15 per year and offer members access to the full schedule. Joining this Meet Up page does NOT automatically make someone a member of the New Haven Hiking Club. Membership forms are available on the club website at www.nhhc.info where there is a wider list of activities listed.

Even the website events are not a complete list, as the weekday activities are emailed to members.

When RSVPing for events on this meet up page, please follow the usual protocol. This means only RSVP "No" if you are changing your RSVP from a "Yes". Otherwise no response is required. Participants will be required to sign the hiking club’s liability release when they arrive at the event’s meeting location.
