New Mexico Outdoors (NMO) is an Albuquerque NM based LGBTQ social club. Any members of the LGBTQ communities and their friends are welcome to participate in any of the NMO events.

NMO typically schedules outdoor activities and various indoor social activities in the Albuquerque area. Our members are encouraged to host or to participate in events anywhere in the state of NM or the southwest. NMO events include day hikes, bicycling, roller-blading, mountain bike riding, campouts, backpacking trips, southwest sight-seeing trips, river rapids trips, horseback riding trips, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and bowling just to name a few. NMO also holds indoor social events such as game nights, movie nights at member's homes or various social outings of interest to our members.

NMO events are usually scheduled on weekends but occasionally on weekdays too. Every NMO event is led by one or more NMO members who volunteer to coordinate the events. Each event leader is the contact person for the event and all questions concerning the event should be directed to her/him via Meetup. The event leader defines the particulars of the trip which includes the meeting place and time, what to bring, what to expect, whether there is any cost for admission, what to wear, and what time the event is expected to return.

The event leader reserves the right to terminate an individual's participation in an event (either before, at the meeting place or during the activity) if he/she feels the physical demands of the event may be excessive for the individual. The NMO members should always make the appropriate decision for themselves as to whether they can handle a particular event based on it's description. Any decisions made to limit  participation by members are based on safety concerns for the member and the group.

NMO is an inclusive group with membership from the LGBTQ communities and our friends. We welcome anyone who shares our passion for the great New Mexico outdoors or for our social events, and a mutual respect for the environment and for our fellow LGBTQ and LGBTQ friendly NMO members. Let's get together and have some fun!

We expect NMO Members to attend (Meetup at) or to organize & lead at least 1 scheduled NMO event every six months (preferably more). Also, as a courtesy to event leaders and participants, we expect NMO Members to always change their RSVP status from YES to NO if their plans change and they know they won't be attending an event.
