MARK CARLSON Principal Engineer, Industry Standards @ Toshiba

Mark A. Carlson, Principal Engineer, Industry Standards at Toshiba, has more than 35 years of experience with Networking and Storage development and more than 20 years experience with Java technology. Mark was one of the authors of the CDMI Cloud Storage standard. He has spoken at numerous industry forums and events. He is the co-chair of the SNIA Cloud Storage and Object Drive technical working groups and serves as co-chair of the SNIA Technical Council.

TOM FRIEND, Director of Industry Standards @ ILLUMINOSI

Tom has been in a variety of engineering positions in the storage industry. His professional history began when IBM PCs were “Plug Compatibles”. He has done VLSI design and written operating system internals for Unix, Linux, Android, and Windows. Having such a diverse experience mix makes him ideal in industry standards and so he manages the Industry Standards Team at Toshiba, SKHynix, ILLUMINOSI and many others.

ANDREW MAIER, Software Engineer @ Eideticom

Andrew Maier has been involved in the NoLoad™ project as a Software Engineer with Eideticom since January 2017. He got his start with the company after finishing his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta. His research included the acceleration of LDPC codes using OpenCL for FPGAs.

Bill Martin has been a leading figure in the development of storage standards for many years, providing prolific innovative contributions to the NVMe, SCSI, Serial ATA, and Fibre Channel standards. He is currently in charge of SSD I/O standards at Samsung, where he represents the company in the NVMe, SCSI, SNIA, and ATA standards efforts as well as working with customers to overcome performance hurdles.

IHAB HAMADI- Fellow @ Western Digital

Ihab Hamadi is a Fellow at Western Digital, where he focuses on the innovation and growth of the company's platforms business, delivering data and application-centric solutions for the enterprise and cloud. He has a solid 21-year track record of building leading edge cloud computing, data storage, networking, and virtualization technology and solutions. Before joining Western Digital, Ihab was Distinguished Technologist at HPE Aruba, leading development teams that contributed to OpenSwitch project and created ArubaOS-CX network operating systems, a modern OS for the mobile and IoT era, built from the ground-up to support Intent Based Networking.

SAGI GRIMBERG - Chief SW Architect @LighttBits

Sagi Grimberg is a Co-Founder and Chief SW Architect at LightBits Labs. Sagi is responsible for software and OS architecture, NVMe standards as well as eco-systems. Sagi was the key author of the NVMe/TCP standard as well as the Linux kernel implementation. In addition, Sagi co-maintains the Linux NVMe subsystem as well as a contributor the the Linux kernel I/O stack.
