What we're about
Sometimes we feel like we're in this quest to serve our autistic children alone because no two autistic children are the same. But we can learn from one another and sometimes the connections we form are the difference.
Come to our Autism Family Gathering and Fundraiser on November 12th 2017 at Joshua Tree in NYC!!
An afternoon for the whole family of fun, fellowship, information sharing, football, a movie, some food and drinks to raise money for Autism Research. Our children are invited!" (in fact it's all about them!)
Place: Joshua Tree, 513 3 Avenue, Manhattan, between 32 & 33 st. Donation: $10.00 on line, $15.00 at the door. Benefits go to the Autism Science Foundation
Hosted by Regina Walsh, Richard Schreiber and Melissa Handman. We’ll have games, resources about autism, autism support groups and best of all, each of us to share with each other. There is no need to go it alone; we’re here to help each other!
I’m leading a charge to create a community in NYC for autistic children and their families where we, the parents, can support one another and to introduce our children to one another. My Autistic 11 year daughter will be manning the games portion of the afternoon!
We’ll have screenings of some movies starring autistic characters to celebrate what’s possible. Listen to local special needs expert and provider Melissa Handman talk about the critical benefits of early diagnose and intervention and the types of resources available. We’ll have other providers on hand and plenty of resource material to help out in our search and quest for support for our autistic children. It promises to be a memorable afternoon of positive thoughts, love and actions. Please come by !!
