Best Practices Implementing Hadoop and Bitcoin

Happy 2015 and Welcome to a New Year! NY Data Science Meetup is pleased to announce a special program featuring two presentations: the “Right Way of implementing Big Data Solutions", and “Data Science behind BitCoin”.

Kannan Perichiappan is a veteran Solution Architect of Big Data Management and Analytics platforms in the Financial Services Industry. He will provide guidance on solving real world challenges with Hadoop. Hadoop provides distributed data storage and analytic processing for hundreds of companies including Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Amazon and Netflix. Kannan has a wealth of experience in architecting Big Data solutions along with the perspective of managing all the Engineering domains involved. He will present proven recommendations for implementing advanced technologies and comprehensive governance models to build “Best in Class” operational solutions. His implementations deliver quality data analytics to lines of business across the enterprise as well as to the C-suite.

John Lilic is an early Bitcoin adopter, and head of Investor Relations for the Bitcoin Center at 40 Broad Street. Bitcoin is the first financial system offering perfect data to make decisions. John will talk about a new economic paradigm where information and data is available to all, not just a privileged few. John will talk about how Bitcoin works, block chain technology, the emerging field of analytics that Bitcoin has spawned, and a brief overview into triple entry bookkeeping. John is an avid Agile enthusiast, and is involved in several tech startups.
