We live in a world where health disparities are worsening despite advances in prevention, diagnosis and treatment. With the right support and partnerships, med tech and digital health entrepreneurs can be a driving force in promoting health equity. Conversely, innovation without an equity lens runs the risk of exacerbating disparities.
This is a group for creative problem solvers- hackers, entrepreneurs, designers, advocates, providers and community leaders.
Through panel discussions, hackathons and other educational/social events, we'll be tackling issues such as:
- communities as innovation hubs - remote care - designing for health justice - fighting racism, sexism, ableism and homophobia in health care through tech - unorthodox partnerships - innovations in housing, employment, education, food/water access (social determinants) to improve health conditions - using data for good - inclusion in the health/innovation profession - using media to shape narratives about health and justice - getting a justice health tech startup funded - the new digital divide
