Kotlin Meetup - Anko & Spring Boot

Details
Our 2nd Kotlin NYC Meetup will be happening on Wednesday Feb 15th, 2017.
Talks:
Anko - Kevin Most
We'll take a deep dive into Anko, a Kotlin library maintained by JetBrains and designed to make Android development expressive and fast. We'll cover the View DSL, the most well-known part of Anko, which allows clean programmatic creation of views without XML, but will also dive into the rest of this surprisingly comprehensive library, which includes type-safe wrappers for many of the low-level Android APIs, and extension methods for the support libraries to make them feel like a first-class part of the Android ecosystem.
Spring Boot - Yousuf Haque
Kotlin and Spring Boot were both designed to help developers move faster. This talk will demonstrate how the combination of the two technologies can make web service development fast, and easy. We will try to show you how to make CRUD apps using Spring Data, and Google’s Firebase.
Attendance is limited. There are only 100 spots available. Be sure to RSVP!
Location: Thank you to Twitter for hosting and providing food and drinks.
Speaker bios:
Kevin Most is a NYC native and a software engineer who is passionate about Android, Kotlin, and naturally, the intersection of the two. Most recently, he worked on a smart photo gallery at Clarifai (an AI startup) written in Kotlin, and an SDK for the AI that powers it.
Yousuf Haque is a developer. He writes Android apps, web services, and when no one is looking, browser apps. Lately he finds himself equipped with a hammer called Kotlin, and a very liberal definition of what constitutes a nail.
