MongoDB, Mortar, Pig and Be Merry

Happy holidays! For our December MUG we'll be co-hosting with Twilio and have the team from Mortar present. We'll also bring some holiday treats! (eggnog $ftw)

MongoDB + Pig
Learn to process Mongo data with Hadoop—specifically with Apache Pig. We will cover the steps needed to read JSON from Mongo into Pig, parallel process it on Hadoop with sophisticated functions, and write back to Mongo. This talk will demonstrate its concepts with Mortar. Mortar is a open source framework + PaaS for developing and executing Hadoop data pipelines.Mortar has contributed to the Mongo Hadoop connector, extending it to work with Pig.
