What we're about

New York Philosophy -

for those who like their philosophy with an edge.

Welcome all

total screaming geniuses

who are modest and a tiny bit sexy.

We meet, debate, drink, and socialize. Not always in that order.

We prefer

the applied over the academic,

the topical over the ancient,

the profane over the mundane.

Topics range from matters of the day to matters of all time.

"Where are we going?"

"Are you talking philosophically or geographically?"

"Philosophically."

"Then we're going to lunch."

FTI: How to achieve your life’s goals in a state of flow [Host: Garrett]

Format: 30-60 minute lecture followed by small breakout rooms for at least 30 minutes and gathering back as a big group to share what we learned, for 5-30 minutes. some of us will remain for a 30 minute informal discussion after the event ends.

We talked on 10/9 about setting your life’s goals as part of what I label a personal profile (things that are most important ot us). Now we’re going to talk about how to achieve your life’s goals in a state of flow. If you haven’t heard of flow, here’s the wikipedia link:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)

I have listened to over 50 book summaries on blinkist of books on leadership, time management, and flow. I’m also an inventor by trade and have invented my own techniques which build off of what I’ve learned from practical experimentation and the many books I’ve learned from. I hope to distill all this down to one hour lecture so I can teach you a methodology that has been helping me. I hope you’ll find it helps you too, but as always I’d love your feedback.
