Function as a Service for OpenStack (Wellington)

Details

Lingxian Kong (https://www.linkedin.com/in/lingxian-kong-a1b23610a/) (Senior OpenStack Developer) has been working on a very exciting project for the OpenStack ecosystem.

Qinling (https://github.com/openstack/qinling) is OpenStack's answer to Function as a Service. Similar to AWS's Lambda, or Google Cloud's Cloud Functions, Qinling is a move towards the serverless architecture model (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serverless_computing). Lingxian will be presenting answers to:

• What is serverless architecture?

• What are the typical use cases of serverless?

• What should you change when migrating to serverless?

• And closing with a demo of Quinling.

Lingxian will also be presenting QinLing at the OpenStack dev summit in Sydney.

• Quinling documentation (http://qinling.readthedocs.io/en/latest/)

• Quinling repo (https://github.com/openstack/qinling)
