The current generation of computing technology is largely based on Wintel with a momentum generated by Moore's Law. The next generation will be very different and will be based on parallel & heterogeneous computing as against sequential & homogeneous. People who are interested in the development of this technology should join. You can be an end-user professional to benefit from the new technology, an engineer or technologist contributing to the development of technology, a computer scientist who sorts out algorithms, or an advocate who explains and promotes the benefits to the public (laymen). Largely this is a meet up group of professionals in New Zealand.

Our scope of interest include CPU, GPU, Many Core, FPGA, Linux, Windows, C/C++, functional programming, big data, high performance computing, OpenCL, CUDA, OpenMP, OpenMPI, single node, multiple node cluster, scientific research, industrial applications, radio astronomy (SKA is the project that gave birth to this meet up group), computer vision, image processing, audio video, ...
