Developing Goals and Career Plans for Developers
Time to step back from the code and reflect on where you are going. This month we have Kate Henty talking all about Career Planning for Developers. We'll have all the usual stuff. Free pizza, give aways and a great chance to catch up with your peers from around the community. Thanks to our sponsors: BMT Tax Depreciation and SAPHI. Developing Goals and Career Plans for Developers Being a developer right now is pretty awesome! You are in high demand, working in a disruptive, evolving, constantly changing environment where new and interesting opportunities are ripe for the picking…..if you know what you want and how to get it. You might be feeling pretty confident with how your career is panning out or perhaps you are wondering what your next career move is and need some help to guide you on your path. Well I am telling you, it pays to be strategic. Setting achievable career goals and owning your own career development will help you stand out from the crowd and help you make the right decisions about your next career move or internal opportunity. Maybe it will help you make it happen if you’re feeling like it’s not on the cards right now. Kate Henty from Spark Coaching, will help you understand what sort of goals you need to have, how to set them so that they are aligned with your values and strengths and how to put it all into action to develop and take ownership of your own development plan. Kate Henty has over 15 years experience in Coaching, Human Resources, and Organisational Development, with a Masters in Coaching Psychology from Sydney University, memberships with AHRI and ICF, and accreditation’s in DiSC and MTQ48. Kate has worked with clients from all around the globe, from individuals, to small businesses, to some of the largest global corporates. Helping them all to focus on their goals, and go on to achieve their potentials.

What we're about

We're a group of passionate Programmers, Web Developers, Hardware Hackers, Students and Technologists in general. Our meetings typically feature a guest speaker talking about a current topic. As well as a chance for technical questions to be answered and to socialise with your peers in the Hunter. It's a great opportunity to learn new skills and stay in touch with what's happening in the region and around the world.
