Please RSVP for this event so that we can track attendance. We will be going live on our Youtube Channel at 1830 on Thursday the 30th of April.
NCSG April 2020 Meetup, Newcastle, NSW.
Almost all Australians share information via the world wide web. Social media websites in particular have become mountains of personal data & while most of the information shared online is considerably harmless - there are important considerations about privacy that are frequently neglected.
Who can see the information you’re sharing?
What can people deduce from the your online activity?
Our online behaviour is often described as our “digital footprint”, and people have been tracking footprints since hunter gathering times. The principle of tracking hasn’t changed, how the foot prints are tracked has.
This month at NCSG I’m very excited to announce that Geoffrey Campey will be discussing how he tracks digital footprints. Geoffrey is the Principal of Social Media Evidence Experts, a boutique consultancy assisting legal and commercial clients is identifying, collecting, preserving and exploiting online evidence since 2013.
He has been actively involved with over 1,000 forensic online investigations in that time.
He also conducts digital forensics investigations and cyber security consultancy engagements for clients across Australia.
Geoffrey trained as a lawyer but saw the ill of his ways and reformed, working hard ever since to cleanse the shame from his family. He has worked in various roles across the legal and technology industries for over 16 years in Australia, Europe and Canada. Geoffrey is incredibly humble, an excellent golfer, an amazing father and husband, and is, in the words of Derek Zoolander, ridiculously good looking. In short, he is the envy of many a man, and the object of desire of many at the school gate.
Come along to hear Geoffrey’s cyber security stories on how he has navigated his path through the cyber security industry and what he can learn about you from your digital footprints or what’s called Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
