I'm a huge fan of both film & theatre having spent many a great evening at the Tyneside Cinema, Side Cinema, Northern Stage, Live Theatre & People's Theatre here in Newcastle.
I hope, with your input & support , I can organise some great events for the group encompassing films & plays to suit all tastes from mainstream to world cinema, blockbusters to indie film & perhaps offer our support to some local amateur stage productions too. I'd also like to plan trips to various film festivals going forward.
I'd love some feedback as to the sort of films & plays members prefer, their favourite venues & the best days to schedule our meetups.
After 4 completely sold out gigs, LUSH! returns to Newcastle's coolest new venue Prohibition Cabaret Bar on Pink Lane to bring you the best of Northern Soul, Disco, 60s/70s Pop, SKA and Motown all wrapped up in one night!
Situated in the upstairs saloon with plenty space to dance and a superbly stocked bar we provide a friendly independent night aimed at just enjoying yourself and the music.
Price: Advance £6 (+BF) / Door £8
Fans of the BBC's Live at The Apollo will be familiar with Enfield's finest who is bringing his energetic stage presence to The Grand Old Lady of Westgate Road next Spring. Never seen him live myself as he rarely ventures this far north but this one-off gig is sure to deliver as Kane has a uniquely physical routine a la Lee Evans - but funnier, in my opinion!
Hope some of our group's usual comedy peeps are up for this and if so, act fast as tickets will sell out quickly. Click on the following link to book tickets via Eventim.
Hi, does anyone fancy going to see a Brian Adam's Tribute at the Three Tuns Pub in Gateshead this Saturday night. The music will probably start around 9pm and it will probably cost around £5/£7 at the door. The music will be in the room to the right of the main entrance to the pub. I'm limiting this Meet Up to 6 people with no guests as it's not a big venue and some Meet Ups are better with small numbers.
Please see the LINKS below for details of the pub/venue and what the Brian Adam's Experience sound like.
