Looking for artists who would like to visit different locations for painting and photography. Gardens, Beaches, Parks, Zoos, Botanical Gardens would be a perfect back drop for local artist to inspire each other with creativity. All levels of artist welcome. A fun morning/afternoon painting/photographing in a beautiful location is all that's required. Rhode Island has many spectacular views and gardens to inspire the artist in all of us.

This historic event will be held this Saturday, April 20, at 475 Valley Street in the Waterfire Arts Center! Fine Art, Live Music, Food Trucks, family fun and more! See you there!!

Field Trip: Roger Williams Park - Botanical Garden

Roger Williams Park Botanical Center

Join in the peaceful setting at Roger Williams Park Botanical Center. Flowers should be in bloom. Fridays are for "Painters & Photographers" to have access to the Botanical Center from 11:00 am - 4:00pm. We can meet at 11:00am at the gate at Roger Williams Park Botanical Center entrance. You can bring a lunch or a snack. Artist are welcome to stay as long as you would like from 11:00am - 4:00pm. The Roger Williams Park Botanical Center is located on an island in the historic Roger Williams Park. The Park was designed in 1878 by the landscape architect Horace W.S. Cleveland and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Botanical Center was built in 2007 and with 23,000 square feet of greenhouse space, it is the largest indoor garden display in New England. Since its inception, the RWPBC has offered Park visitors a place to relax, reflect and create long lasting memories through weddings and events held there. It has also become an important place to learn and explore the natural world. The RWPBC is committed to offering an interest for everyone. Educational walks, tours and special activities for all generations can be enjoyed here throughout the year. 11:00 am - 4:00 pm General Admission: (Ages 13-64) $5.00 Children (Ages 6-12): $2.00 Children under 6: Free Military/Seniors (Military ID/Over 64): $2.00 Directions, Parking and Accessibility: The guest parking lot is located across the street from the Mounted Police Command Headquarters and adjacent to the Community Garden. The parking lot can accommodate approximately 56 vehicles. Directions are provided for vehicles. West on I-195 I-195 West to I-95 South Take Exit 17, Elmwood Avenue Left at light Second left into the park Follow the signs to the Botanical Center Public Parking Lot. While the majority of the facility is handicap accessible, guest may request to park behind the building to better accommodate wheelchairs. Guest needing accessibility must visit the Welcome Center first, pay admission and request access.

Beach Painting on the Corner of Purgatory and Paradise

On the corner of Purgatory and Paradise, before the crowds start rolling in, let's paint the beautiful location of Surfers End and Purgatory Chasm. Painters, Photographers, all levels welcome. Rain day will be Friday, May 17th. Fun way to start the summer of outside sessions.

Drawing Night - Still Life

Newport Public Library


Drawing Night - Still Life Come join artist and friends at the Newport Public Library for a drawing Still Life night. Bring drawing pad and some items to draw with (pencil, pen, charcoal, etc.) Format will be draw as you would like the Still Life displays provided. $5.00 cash at the door (or you can Venmo me) to help pay for display supplies and refreshments. Session will be in the Aquidneck room: Located on the lower level adjacent to the Program room.
