What we're about

This meetup is meant to be a regular melting pot of people who want to work on their (Embedded) Linux projects, discuss electronics, Linux Kernel Programming, Hardware and Software Security, or maybe Open Source Software in General and want to work and talk in a casual setting. The meetup will take place in bars and cafés around Central Nice.

We can follow the osdev tutorials and write our first bootloader!:
https://wiki.osdev.org/Tutorials

Bring your laptop and hack on your project, or watch over my shoulder working on the bootloader!

I will try to organize an event either on Monday or on Thursday about every two weeks somewhere in Nice. If you have suggestions for places with WiFi, power outlets and some quiet, please tell me!

Beers and Programming!

Diane's

Get your qemu ready, bring your laptop charger (and a multiplug?) and choose the project you want to work on from https://wiki.osdev.org/Tutorials! If you don't have a laptop, no problem, we can solve the Tutorials and learn together! I will continue with https://wiki.osdev.org/Higher_Half_x86_Bare_Bones on the next meetup. In this meetup, we will dive deeper into page tables and virtual address space, but also discuss linker scripts! Diane's has vin chaud now, the best drink for cold and rainy weather! Or just have a beer and discuss your favorite build system/editor/programming language, or work on your personal Open Source Project in a Nice atmosphere! See you soon!
