Advanced NightScape Seminar - Seattle

Advanced NightScape Seminar - Seattle

Details

This 4-hour, hands-on workshop of advanced Milky Way landscape photography techniques covers virtually all of the classroom instruction that Royce Bair gives at his $1,299 workshops, minus the outdoor field instruction! You'll want to bring your camera, one or two wide angle lenses, tripod, and a laptop computer for this seminar.

Registrants of this seminar also receive a copy of my new ebook, Milky Way NightScapes (http://intothenightphoto.blogspot.com/2015/01/milky-way-nightscapes-ebook-preview.html). This will be sent to you prior to the seminar, for your preparation and future reference.

This workshop is sponsored by BlackRapid (http://www.blackrapid.com/), and the Seattle Photography Club (http://www.seattlephotographyclub.com/). All spaces are full, and reservations are now closed. However, you can listen to BlackRapid podcast (http://www.blackrapidmedia.com/podcast/) interview with Royce, starting Friday, Feb. 27. You can also order Royce's new ebook, on how to photograph Milky Way NightScapes (http://intothenightphoto.blogspot.com/2015/01/milky-way-nightscapes-ebook-preview.html).

Royce's step-by-step recipe will enable you to capture great Milky Way "NightScapes" the first time you go out on your own. Bair's extensive digital slide presentation (more detailed than his free, one-hour lectures), is loaded with even more technical, how-to information, such as: planning when and where to shoot the Milky Way, forecasting, finding dark skies, calculating star alignment, choosing the right lens, focusing in the dark, composing in the dark, exposure calculation, noise reduction techniques, advanced light painting, post processing, and exposure blending. There will be extra time for questions and answers.

Price at the door will be $100 (if space is still available).

Advanced field and post-processing techniques, i.e. exposure blending will be demonstrated.

Royce Bair is a semi-retired magazine photographer who has been doing starry “NightScape” photography for three decades. His photography has appeared in various publications such as National Geographic, Smithsonian, Reader’s Digest, and American Photo, just to name a few. In recent years, many have tried to copy his night photography style and techniques, but Royce continues to push the astro-landscape photography envelope. He teaches his advancements via free lectures and paid workshops. “Seeing many of my students go beyond what I have done, and use these skills to photograph the Milky Way with new landscape features is very satisfying,” reports Royce. His blog provides additional night photography techniques, where he also also offer tutorial, and features the work of other night photographers: Into the Night Photography (http://intothenightphoto.blogspot.com/)
