Maybe I’m already buzzed or it could be allergies but I just had to get this event posted early. It’s once again time to dust off that collared shirt to get cleaned and pressed or to check to see if that summer dress still fits. For those who came last year, you know you want to get this on your calendar. For those who missed out, this is your chance to cash in. For everyone else, just show up! It’s that good. The yard will be scaped, the garden planted, dog playful and there’ll even be flame thrower! Wait! What? Yes, the fire pit will be kicked off with a flame thrower for those dudes who think this event doesn’t have enough testosterone built in.
Now for your action items!
- Bring a bottle of wine (no $2 chuck, boones farm or arbor mist). Red or white wine is fine, it’s your choice
- Please bring a ice bucket or wine chiller if bringing a white, sparkling, blush or rosé
- Bring a food pairing. A nice aged cheese always comes to mind but dried fruit and nuts, charcuterie, or chocolates (especially dark) work too. Have some fun. Google what pairs well with the wine you’re bringing.
If you’re wondering where to go for all this, don’t ponder too hard. Total Wine & More is a great one stop shop. They have knowledgeable people to help you make the choices you don’t want to make. Your local grocery store usually has a wine aisle and a deli section where the fancy cheeses and meats are sold. If you’re feeling extra generous, bring 2 bottles and throw in some crackers. Carbs are good for soaking up all that wine you’re going to drink.
Your fantastic and gracious hosts will be supplying 2 bottles of wine from the aging cellar, 2 types of cheese, plates, utensils, napkins, glasses and, most importantly, the place.

Your hosts go to great lengths to ensure this is an event for the scrap books. Signing up and either changing your RSVP to not going or, even worse, not coming messes with our ability to accurately plan. Not only that but I’ll be forced to live up to my reputation for sending that message that tells you don’t bother signing up in the future and neither of us really wants that!
