What we're about

Tennis is fun! Doubles tennis is double the fun! This group is for players who are close to the USTA 3.5 rating (strong intermediate) and above. MOST of our events are limited to this level. So, no beginners, advanced beginners, or low intermediates for MOST of our event. In general, 3.5 players are expected to consistently keep the ball in play with their serves, groundstrokes, and volleys. Knowing correct doubles positioning is also important. For example, players should not hang out in "no man's zone"--between the baseline and the service line.

Here's our attendance policy: The deadline for cancellations is THE NIGHT BEFORE THE EVENT. If an unforeseeable matter comes up, players can cancel in the morning but should both update their RSVP AND message the host. Because tennis doubles require 4 players, it is critical that those who sign up show up! For this reason, we have a ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY FOR NO-SHOWS: No-shows will be removed from the group but might be allowed to rejoin after a hiatus.

We rotate players every 25-30 minutes. Participants are responsible for staying within their own physical limits and practicing caution. All sports activities carry some risk of injury. Please bring a new can of tennis balls.

Tennis is the second most popular sport in the word! It is one of the highest-rated sports for sociability and creativity--think about all the shot selections you can make, especially in doubles. It is inexpensive and can be played year-round. Studies show that tennis players live longer! So, let's play tennis! Often.
