Potluck at Edora Park & Bike Maintenance 101

SUMMER IS HERE! Lectures in meeting rooms are out. Casual gatherings around a grill with some of your fellow FI/RE friends are in!

Let's get together at Edora Park. Ellen and I will bring a medium-sized portable grill that anyone in our group is free to use. We'll also bring ladder golf and a big roll of duct tape (our PVC ladder golf game has had a great life, but this just might be its last big day out).

If you haven't been by this particular park yet, Edora has lots of wide open green spaces, plenty of shade from old growth trees, and three picnic shelters in the event of rain. At least 2 of the shelters will be first-come, first-serve so I'll show up early with a book and the hopes of locking down the west-most shelter for us.

Aaron suggested Edora Park in large part because of how well connected it is to the city's biking infrastructure. If you're coming by bike, taking the Spring Creek Trail is particularly lovely.

Also, do be sure to check Meetup notifications on the day of the event. If we're unable to get a shelter and need it, we may instead setup at Spring Park (a short journey West down the Spring Creek Trail or Stuart St). It's a similar but less trafficked park with 1 shelter. Of course, if we have to change the venue, Kyle or I will message everyone who has RSVP'd.

BIKE MAINTENANCE 101 - 4:00 p.m.

While lectures under artificial light might be a bit season-deaf, a low-key bike presentation under the Colorado sun sounds pretty perfect to me. If you've ever been interested to know more about how your bike works and some maintenance you can do yourself, this is the Meetup for you.

Aaron worked as an engineer designing bicycles and has a lot of bike knowledge to share. He and his wife Laura have also had some incredible bike adventures around the U.S. and have thousands of miles of cross-country experience with keeping their bikes working well.
